Introduction

Lungs are bag-like organs, or body parts, used for breathing. They are part of the body’s respiratory system. Humans that have a backbone and they breathe air have lungs. When a human inhales (breaths in), air-filled with oxygen flows into the lungs and when a human exhales (breaths out), a gas called carbon dioxide and water vapor flow out of the lungs.
